Ota Gyuuichi

Ota Gyuuichi was Oda Nobunaga's biographer. He was best known for writing the Shinchoo-Koo ki ( in (which consisted of 15 books). He was born in 1527 at Owari no kuni Kusagai Okori Yamada sho Ajiki. Gyuuichi was seven years older than Nobunaga. He first started as monk at Joukanji(Tendai sect) Temple in Owari, after he quit the monastery life he would serve under the Oda in the 1550s. Gyuuichi was skilled with the bow and was known for his merits in the Battle of Dobora in Mino in 1565. He would later serve under Hideyoshi after Nobunaga's death in 1582. He was also known as Izumi no Kami Gyuuichi and Ota Matasuke Gyuuichi as well.
