Okehazama Armor Battle Video

Here is myself in a video I participated earlier in February while in Japan.  At first it looks cheesy, but it is not.  You actually put on armor and do a few video shots at Shinmei/Okehazama Shrine.  Once everything is edited, the video is nearly perfect. If you are not going to participate in a reenactment of the Battle of Okehazama at a festival or something similar, this is your best bet.  I enjoyed myself and actually felt I was there at the battle. It was well worth the time and money.  Later that day, I had a huge interview with the locals of Okehazama discussing the battle. Afterwards, another discussion on the Okehazama battlefield with the locals.

Nobunaga Nijo Castle Stones

I was a the present Nijo Castle in Kyoto today and took some photographs from stone remains from the time when Nobunaga built Nijo for shogun Ashikaga Yoshiaki in 1569.  The Portuguese Jesuit missionary Luis Frois has written a detailed account of the construction.
