Gifu's Zenkoji
Located near Inaba Jinja in Gifu City is a small temple. Zenkoji. Yes, same name as the famous Zenkoji in Nagano, but this one is much smaller. Gifu's Zenkoji has some interesting Sengoku Era history as well. The famous Kyoto courtier Yamashina Tokitsugu (1507-79) stayed at Zenkoji during his visits to Gifu (1569-71) and to see Nobunaga in person. it is understood that he took the Nakasendo Highway to reach Gifu. The next time you visit Inaba Jinja while in Gifu, make sure you stop at Zenkoji which is on your left.
