This the very last chapter in Ota Gyuichi's Shincho-Ko ki where Tokugawa Ieyasu finds out about Oda Nobunaga and Nobutada's death. Ieyasu knows he has to leave Sakai at once. Again, the translation is not perfect.
"The group of Lord Tokugawa Ieyasu, Anayama Baisetsu, and Hasegawa Take learned about the the deaths of Lord Nobunaga and his son while in Sakai of Izumi. Then they moved out to Ujidahara Pass. Along the way, Anayama happened to meet with an insurrection and was killed. Lord Tokugawa and Hasegawa Take took a boat from Kuwata and arrived at Atsuta harbor safe and sound."

It is interesting to imagine what went through Ieyasu's mind the exact moment he heard of Nobunaga's death. The shock and what should he do thoughts must have been amazing.
Sadler has a page or two on it. Once Ieyasu arrived at Okazaki, he tried to lead an army to attack Akechi Mitsuhide. However, once he arrived at Atsuta, he received the news that Hideyoshi did the job at the battle of Yamazaki.
Yeah, I recall that from Sadler. The instant realization that your whole world has changed must have been a shock for Ieyasu. But Ieyasu was a smart and shrewed leader so he certainly must have immediately started strategizing what his options were and planning his next steps. Unfortunately for him Hideyoshi was just in a better position to respond to Mitsuhide's treachery.
I received the 2007 Taiga Furin Kazan as Christmas present last year and it is one of best so far.
