Nobunaga no Chef I

The television drama Nobunaga no Chef is back in the news again.  The second season will air on 10 July on Asahi TV at 8 p.m.  This is good news in my opinion because the first season was actually decent.  From what I understand, Nobunaga's wife Nohime and Takeda Shingen will make an appearance this upcoming season.  I actually read the Nobunaga no Chef comic on my way to Japan last year.  It is different for sure.

On the Okehazama front, I have been rereading Owada Tetsuo's Okehazama no Tatakai on Matsudaira Motoyasu's (Tokugawa Ieyasu) delivering the supplies to Odaka Castle.  There are several sources with different dates of the year when he delivered the supplies.  I have translated and written down the sources and plan to post them soon.  Both Ota Gyuichi's Shincho-Ko ki and Oze Hoan's Shinchoki has 1560 as the year that Motoyasu delivered the supplies to Odaka Castle.  But there is more and there is some surprises.

Tenka no tame!

Unfortunately the scanlations are stuck to volume 7 T_T
I heard that the drama is a bit different from the manga-- What do you think?
I'd like to watch the drama 'cause I'm eager to know more, but I found the manga really well-written, I don't want to be disappointed by it...

The television series is much different than the manga. That being said, the television series is good in my opinion.

By my personal opinion? If you like the manga, better skip the drama. The manga is much better and the drama can't compare.

The drama puts a bit too much emphasis on the relationship between Ken and Natsu.

Akechi is more... "sneaky and evil" in the drama.

Those are minor complaints, though.

I agree with Ken and Natsu. I do not like the romance garbage in an Era where bloodshed was king. I enjoyed the first season and hopefully the second one will be successful.

Thank you d_a, and after Les' comment, I'm sure that the drama is not my cup of tea XD But I'll give it a try and watch a pair of episodes for the sake of completion!

Outside the love drama garbage, I liked it. One of my favorite scenes from last season was when Ken made salmon chazuke. Nobunaga asked Ken why salmon. he replied to return alive. Nobunaga then asked Ken what do salmon do when they return. Ken was put on the spot. Damn, he is going to kill me. he slowly replied, they die when they return. Nobunaga quickly replied, we all die at some point. he sings atsumori and then pours tea on the salmon bowl and wolfs it down.
