Okehazama Nobunaga Statue

Today I received an e-mail from my great Okehazama friend Mr. Yukio Kajino. I was so happy to hear from him and there will be a moon viewing party at the Okehazama battlefield on October 31. I know it is a bit late, but you can take a look at the party on the Okehazama link.

Also If you want to know what the Nobunaga statue will look like next year at the battlefield, here is the link with a nice photo.

Many thanks to Mr. Yukio Kajino and the Okehazama staff.

That looks like an impressive statue. Why do they hold a moon viewing?

To celebrate the season of fall. :-)

Looks like I'm following Tornadoes around the web!

I suppose the full moon would have been splendid! What a great time of year. I noticed the weather in Japan is still very comfortable these days.

That is one awesome statue of Nobunaga Oda. The craftsmanship in Japan is always so impressive!

Thanks for the post.

I enjoyed your site and will stop by again!

Thanks. To tell you the truth, the Nobunaga statue in Gifu over time will be the best one I think. The Okehazama battlefield is small and there is only room enough for two. I am glad that the Okehazama anniversary team is making the project coming through.

Here is an article in the Mainichi about hiking in Shiga-ken. Included in the article is information about a museum that has a reproduction of the top two floors Azuchi castle. Here is the link:

Thanks for the link. I have been to Azuchi Castle ruins at least three times. A must for any Nobunaga scholar/fan. The museum rocks as well. Always rent a bike and then take my time hiking castle ruins. On a clear day the view is awesome. You can see Lake Biwa and the view is priceless.
