When I was Kyoto last month I finally found the landmark that eluded me for years. Nanbanji Temple was the Christian church built during the Nobunaga Era. No doubt, that Nobunaga's compadre, Luis Frois prepared Mass here.
Then question I have: Did Nobunaga ever entered Nanbanji to have a chat with Luis Frois? A must see landmark anybody who studies Nobunaga and Christianity in Japan.

Nice photo. Do you know if there is a Honno-ji landmark like that in Kyoto too? Would you happen to have a picture and directions available to post?

The modern Honnoji was under construction when I was in Kyoto last month. However, I was able to visit the Honnoji museum though. Also I have been and have photos of the Honnoji landmark where Nobunaga died.

Hey, sorry for commenting on an old post, but mind giving directions to this landmark too? Like what street it was on?
Because I couldn't speak Japanese it was hard to communicate with the Shinchou Saryou staff, so I didn't ask them for directions to Nanbanji...
It is located between Takoyakushi-dori and Muromachi-dori.
