Nohime Bus

Statue of Nohime at Kiyosu Castle

There is a new Sengoku busho bus in my adopted hometown Gifu.  Nobunaga's lovely wife Nohime, finally has a bus of her own.  This is fantastic news in my opinion.  The link below has an article in Japanese on Nohime and the city bus.

The Nohime statue in Kiyosu has been moved to the castle park area. It is right next to the Nobunaga statue. The artwork for the Nohime bus is very similar to the Nobunaga bus series. So happy that the princess from Mino has her own bus.

I just wish Nagoya would do something like this. Gifu City has done a great job in promoting historical tourism that last few years.

Mphf!! How cute!!

But, will the bus be always on service or only for a limited period like Nobunaga's..?

I did see the Nobunaga bus last fall. So I assume the Nohime bus will be around for awhile.

True, I thought that the Nobunaga bus was limited to the Gifu Nobunaga Matsuri but apparently it's always active :o !!

So there's a good chance that on my next trip I'll manage to get a glimpse of Nohime's!

--They should do one about Dosan, too XD
