Orizu Castle was the capital of Owari during the Muromachi Era. It was built by Oda Hyobu no Jo Toshihiro during the Oei Era. Now Kiyosu Castle was built and intended to be a defensive stronghold for Orizu. However, during the Onin War, Oda Toshisada banished Toshihiro and Orizu Castle was put to the torch in 1476. Once that happened, the capital of Owari was moved to Kiyosu.
