Rekishijin Magazine's new issue will cover Nobunaga's career. I am a big fan of Rekishijin ever since they first came out. Topics include:
- Honnoji
- Family line
- Nobunaga's charisma
- Castles
- Nobunaga's interests/hobbies
- Nobunaga's ladies

Wow!! It's everything Nobunaga!!
I would love to get a copy of this new issue. It looks good. Decent general history, but the color graphics and maps are awesome.
Yes, I was checking out the website, wonderful illustrations! And so many juicy infos!!
Agree, I have a couple of past issues on Nobunaga. I love the magazine.
GOSH look at those beautiful illustrations. I want it too.
I had one previous issue on Nobunaga that I got while in Japan. Another one won't hurt.
I'll look for them too! What other issues do you suggest?
Also, d_a... Share some scans, you villain ;_; !
(I may have some translated!)
I have Rekishijin issues on Sengoku battles and one related to Go (Oichi's daughter).
@Dae: I don't have it with me!! I won't be going home until next year so I can't see it until then. That's why I'd like to buy this one if I can, so I have something to look at while I do my Nobu things.
@Les: You said you have a few Nobunaga issues too? What were the variations between the multiple issues? Do they all discuss different subjects?
I remember the one I had also discussed castles, Honnouji, and Nobunaga's family line. So I want to know if the topics were different or something...
I definitely want to hear about the women in this new one! XD
From what I can tell, d_a, it's a magazine about history subjects, so the articles are always new and different, they add new details everytime.
This last issue looks very cool 'cause it's all about Nobu <3 (the article about religion feels similar to mine, too XD)! I also spotted one dedicated to "What if?" situations, but I found those kinda useless, expecially since I know so little about Nobunaga that feels weird to think of such things when I don't know the actual facts XD But I see that they could be exciting for an expert.
I have Oda Nobunaga Shinjutsu and a special issue that I have received last year. Mostly the same with some articles repackaged.
From what I can tell it's possible that the special issue that you talk about is a collection of past articles on the same subject.
In this case it's obvious that it's the same.
I'm interested in this special issue, can you tell me the exact number it is? I may try to get it together with this new issue ^_^
The special issue that I received last year is rekishijin best mook series 73.
Now how do I order this thing if/when it comes out?
I'm really interested in the bits talking about the women.
Interested in the Honnoji bit too. "Was there really an evil mastermind behind it?" discussion? Bring it! I've actually seen conspiracy theories saying Nou-hime did it, so... I want to hear what the experts say about conspiracy theories.
Thank you Les!
d_a, you can try websites like YesAsia-> http://www.yesasia.com/
...I'm still deciding to get the "Nobunaga no Shinjitsu" in the magazine or "Bessatsu" version... I was checking out the line-up of the summaries and they do look like the same articles arranged differently, after all >3> !!!
Speaking of the Honnoji, I have a great unbiased paper in English by Brandon Schindelwolf, Toki wa Ima (Time is Now). A very balanced view of the Honnoji. In fact, he was one of the few people who had the opportunity to see and read the English version of the the Shincho-Ko ki before it was published.
Great suggestion, Les! I just found it online, I'm off to read it :3 !!
Read Kicho&Nobunaga near the end of book as well. Mitsuhide provided Nohime with a palanquin, but practically told him up yours! LOL. Mitsuhide had the saddest face know to man.
There were TWO versions? D:
But if it's the same I guess it doesn't matter.
Oh, Toki wa IMa. I think I saw it a while ago, but never got around to reading it.
Les, I don't think that I'll ever read that book XD
d_a, the numbers dedicated to "Nobunaga no Shinjitsu" are the one dated July 2011 and an extra ("bessatsu") dated November 2012.
I guess that the second offers some kind of "remake" with a few updates on the articles.
Price and numbers of pages are pretty much the same, though.
Think this latest Rekishijin issue on Nobunaga no Nazo looks very interesting. Again, would love to get my hands on this current issue.
